Thanks to everyone who supported November outreach projects.
Over 30 pieces of luggage were offered to Faith House by the end of October. The Holy Spirit definitely helped play a part in bringing this project to the fore at just the right moment. The support staff of Faith House indicated that St. Barnabas filled a pressing and immediate need for luggage to assist many women and children being relocated (for their protection) and bused to new locations across the state and out of state. Thank you for digging in your closets, shopping yard sales and thrift stores and most of all for making a difference! What’s more? Outreach offered a cash donation in the amount of $181 to Faith House from brown envelope receipts.
What a great month of work with the homeless November was for St. Barnabas. Meal Service on the 15th boasted a terrific outpouring of love from the church, and it was a great opportunity to cook and serve with Barnabites new to this project.

The response to the Kindness Comfort Bag project was overwhelming. Outreach is grateful to all the folks who took time to shop for items and donate them to the project as well as participate in assembling over 100 bags on November 18, 2018. The bags went from the altar at St. Barnabas straight to homeless people. Approximately 65 winterized bags were distributed to folks in need at the Thanksgiving Feast in Federal Park on November 21, 2018.
Don’t worry, there are still enough bags left in the Narthex for the taking. So, please do - take a bag! It is the wish of Outreach that parishioners grab a bag from the Narthex and be prepared to offer it in an act of random kindness in the community soon.
