Just a note from the music program and your friendly music director, Shawn Roy. Hope you all had a great summer, and you are ready to lift your voices up for the new church year! Many thanks to the choir members who came and sang for “summer choir” which included two new members.
In preparation for the new church year, I will continue to ask for anyone who is interested in joining the adult choir to come by and chat with me. We rehearse on Wednesday nights at 6:30p for about an hour or so. First practice will be September 5. Then we meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00a for a short rehearsal, then sing at the 10:30a service. Once again this year, we are planning three special services which include the Advent concert, the gospel service, and the French language service.
But if you can’t join the choir, we urge to sing along with us at the service. We will be changing service music occasionally to keep you on your toes, and every week the choir will sing a new anthem.
Also, if you have younger parishioners in your household, and they want to join the children’s choir, just have them participate in Messy Church on Sunday mornings, and we sing for about 15 minutes during this time as part of their religious experience. They normally sing at the service about 3 – 4 times during the year.
So please join us in song during church and raise your voice loudly to the Lord!
Shawn Roy, Director of Music
